But Shaquille O’Neal posted the above pic and comment to Instagram last night claiming an all-time Lakers team could beat an all-time Bulls team. Not only did he say they would win, but that they’d win by 50!
In case you can’t read the fine print, or don’t recognize the players he included in his all-time starting five, for the Lakers he’s got Magic Johnson at the point (naturally), Kobe Bryant at the two-guard, the estimable Elgin Baylor at the small forward slot, himself at the power forward and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar at center. Now we’re just picturing the Big Aristotle as a stretch four.
For the Bulls, O’Neal has Derrick Rose running point, the G.O.A.T. at the off-guard, Scottie Pippen at small forward, Dennis Rodman at power forward and Horace Grant out of position at center.
The frontcourt obviously favors the Lakers, but we learned long ago never to bet against His Airness. Remember, Scottie did a great job on Magic when he switched onto him during Chicago’s win over the Lakers in the 1991 Finals. Then again, the idea of Horace trying to defend Kareem or Shaq is ridiculous. But Worm could hold his own against either. Let’s hear what you think in the comments.
